Local Law Enforcement
Around fifty vehicles have been covered with what seems to be human blood in the Germany's municipality of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by authorities.
Cars, walls and mailboxes were vandalized, in some cases with swastikas, they reported in a official communication.
Law enforcement report they were notified in the late hours on Wednesday evening, when a individual noticed that a car in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a red-colored fluid.
The substance had been drawn in the shape of a swastika, they reported.
Officers then located multiple other marked automobiles and house walls in the nearby vicinity.
Nazi symbols are prohibited in Germany under legislation outlawing the public exhibition of symbols from the Nazi era.
Officials say initial examinations suggest the liquid was probably human bodily fluid.
"Currently there is no lead as to its source; authorities are currently not informed of any injuries in connection with the event," they added.
City officials said they were trying "to resolve the mystery" and have requested to the public for details.
A senior representative commented the attack made him stunned and needed to be addressed rapidly.
"This incident affects the center of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the extremist violent incident half a decade ago," he stated on online, recalling the murder of nine individuals by a assailant targeting people of immigrant origin in 2020.
